Carol Runion
Appointed to Board of Western Maryland Station Center
Cumberland,
MD - The Allegany County Museum, and the Board of Directors of the Western
Maryland Station Center Inc., would like to announce the appointment of Carol
Runion to the WMSC board.
Ms.
Runion, a resident of Frostburg, Maryland, recently moved from the Baltimore
area.
Ms.
Runion brings to the board extensive experience in museum direction and
curatorial expertise. She was Director
of the Laurel Museum, Laurel, Maryland, Exhibits Curator/Head of Exhibits
Department, Baltimore Museum of Industry, Baltimore, Maryland, and
Curator/Deputy Director, Baltimore Public Works Museum, Baltimore, Maryland.
From
1986 to 2003, Ms. Runion served on boards of many national, state, regional and
city historical and museum organizations, including the National Association for Museum Exhibition.
Ms.
Runion received a
BA, Visual Arts, from the
University Of Maryland Baltimore County in 1982 and did post-graduate work in American
Material Culture/Museum Studies, UMBC, 1982-84.

The
Allegany County Museum, under the supervision of the Western Maryland Station
Center, Inc., preserves the area's history and has become a major heritage
attraction. The Museum's concentration is on transportation history, industrial
history, and social history, and also features permanent and visiting exhibits,
and special collections. The Museum will be closed from January to May 2008 but
may be opened by special appointment and the Museum is available for special
