Allegany Museum is located in Western Maryland, in the City of Cumberland, on the Baltimore Street pedestrian mall. Cumberland is most easily reached via Interstate 68. Cumberland is centrally located between nearby metro areas, about 2 and a half hours from Baltimore, Washington or Pittsburgh.

From Baltimore, MD:

Take I-70 West to I-68 West to Cumberland. Take the Downtown Exit (43C) and turn right at the bottom of ramp (stop sign). Turn left on Centre Street and proceed one block. The Museum is at the corner of Baltimore Street and Centre Street.

From Washington, DC:

Take I-270 North to I-70 West to I-68 West to Cumberland. Take the Downtown Exit (43C) and turn right at the bottom of ramp at stop sign (Harrison Street). Turn left on Centre Street and proceed one block. The Museum is at the corner of Baltimore Street and Centre Street.

From Pittsburgh, PA:

Take I-79 South to Morgantown then take I-68 East to Cumberland. Take the Downtown Exit (43C). Make a left at the bottom of the exit ramp. Go left at the next traffic light at Harrison Street (across from the Holiday Inn). Turn right on Centre Street and proceed one block. The Museum is at the corner of Baltimore Street and Centre Street.

From Bedford, PA:

Take Rt. 220 South to I-68 West to Cumberland. Take the Downtown Exit (43C) and turn right at the bottom of ramp (stop sign). Turn left on Centre Street and proceed one block. The Museum is at the corner of Baltimore Street and Centre Street.

If you are coming from LaVale on Scenic Route 40 (National Road), go East on Rt. 40 and follow signs to Cumberland. Proceed along Mechanic Street to Baltimore Street.
