| The museum is located at 3 Pershing Street, Cumberland, Maryland. Cumberland is most easily reached via Interstate 68. Cumberland is centrally located between nearby metro areas, about 2 and a half hours from Baltimore, Washington or Pittsburgh.

| From east of Cumberland: |
Take I-70 West to I-68 West to Cumberland. Take exit 43B for MD-51 toward Industrial Blvd/Airport. Turn left at S Mechanic St. Take the 2nd right onto Pershing St. The museum will be on the right. |
| From west of Cumberland: |
Take I-68 East to Cumberland. Take exit 43A. Turn left onto S. Johnson St. Turn right onto Greene St. Turn left to stay on Greene St. Take a right onto Baltimore St, and then a right onto S Mechanic St. Turn left onto Pershing St. The museum will be on the right. |
| From Scenic Route 40 (National Road): |
Go East on Rt. 40 and follow signs to Cumberland. Proceed along Mechanic Street and turn left onto Pershing St. The museum will be on the right. |
